For our sartorial and menswear community is known that January and June are like Christmas. We are looking forward to meeting all those great brands, new menswear inspirations, new trends in fashion, and great Negroni locations. However, for those of us who have been attending for so many years a big part of the fair is also to reunite with all of our favourite people all over the world who are difficult to see through the year. It’s the most festive professional fair and should be celebrated as such!
What you see in Fortezza da Basso is a beautiful mix of different cultures, different age groups, and diverse crowds with a common purpose. To celebrate menswear, to have delightful conversations around it and to begin new collaborations that will flourish and evolve the industry.
I have a special bond with this year’s Pitti theme, as it holds several interpretations for me. It reminds me of Amalfi which is one of my favourite destinations, but also it brings me memories of my hometown and my father’s garden which is full of lemons that you can smell from far away.
The PITTI LEMON campaign, coordinated by creative director Angelo Figus, for Pitti Uomo, has been interpreted by Giordano Poloni, a renowned illustrator who collaborates with major magazines and newspapers worldwide. His creativity brought to life a visionary Lemon City, the ideal destination for the two protagonists of the drawing, just as Pitti Uomo is for those seeking style and modernity.
Lemon will be the star of the fair and the Italian surroundings and I guess for most of the Pitti looks, including myself. Pitti Lemon will give a joyful and boldness aspect to the looks and will bring colourful motivation to all of the talented photographers that will be covering Fortezza Da Basso inside and outside, and walking around to find the perfect outfit that will intrigue their eyes.
When incorporating the theme of “lemon” into your Pitti Uomo 106 looks, you can draw inspiration from various sources to create unique and stylish outfits that reflect the theme. Here are some suggestions on where to get inspiration for your Pitti Uomo lemon-themed vibrant looks:
1. Citrus Colors: Look for clothing pieces in shades of yellow, green, and citrus hues to capture the essence of lemons. Incorporate these colours into your outfits through shirts, jackets, pants, or accessories.
2. Patterns and Prints: Consider incorporating lemon-inspired patterns and prints, such as lemon motifs, citrus fruits, or botanical prints. These can add a playful and refreshing touch to your Pitti Uomo looks.
3. Accessories: Accessories can play a key role in enhancing your lemon-themed outfits. Opt for accessories like lemon-shaped pins, citrus-inspired ties, or lemon-printed pocket squares to add a subtle nod to the theme.
4. Textures and Fabrics: Experiment with textures and fabrics that evoke the freshness and vibrancy of lemons. Lightweight fabrics like linen or cotton can be perfect for summer Pitti Uomo looks inspired by the lemon theme.
5. Italian Influence: Since Pitti Uomo is held in Florence, Italy, consider incorporating elements of Italian style and craftsmanship into your lemon-themed outfits. Look for Italian brands or designers known for their quality and attention to detail.
I assume that there is needless to say that linen and cotton will be the stars of the fabrics that due to the expected high temperatures as every summer, those textiles can make you proud from dusk till dawn.
By combining these sources of inspiration and incorporating the theme of “lemon” creatively into your Pitti Uomo looks you can showcase a unique and stylish interpretation of the theme while staying true to the spirit of the event.
Therefore pack your best summer outfits, and your creativity, embrace the sartorial spirit and don’t forget the best accessory to bring along to the fair. Your playful smile!
A presto!
